Here Name: “Hand Maid”. She is 8” tall. Mixed Media Art Doll. Elements used include fabric, paint, polymer clay, glass beads, freshwater pearls, metal and bone charms.

 

Artist Statement: She started out as a smart ass piece of art, a play on words, but as I worked on her I started thinking about all the hands that are on me all day as a mom and childcare provider. I was reminded of this motion my girlfriends and I do when we are sans kids, sort of a shrug or dusting off of our arms and legs, the psychic clearing of all those little hands. She ended up being deeper than I thought.
