"Charlie"

This piece is named after the "Charlie in the box" from "Rudolph the red – nosed rain deer."

This piece incorporates some of my favorite childhood toys and  memories.

Games "suggested" are:
Jack (Charlie)  in the box, railroad track, ball-n-jack, suite of cards, Parcheesi game with dice and shaker jar, slinky, pick up sticks, yo-yo with string, fun house mirrors, checker board, monopoly game money, dominoes.

The Jack (Charlie) in the box was constructed from scratch, the lid does not close, nor is "Jack" (Charlie) on a traditional spring.
The railroad track is a traditional track set into this piece, the suite of cards was also created from scratch.
The Parcheesi game board is from scratch but the dice were beaded over real dice and so was the pawn.
The yo-yo, dominoes , ball and jack, monopoly  money, pick up sticks, are bead-over-s.

The jack (Charlie)  in the box has 5 distinct areas. Each side is different from the others, as is the lid, both sides of the lid are fully beaded.

No glue was used in this piece, each and every bead was sewn or woven.
This piece measures 22" X 17" X 18" tall.

Now I know many of you are wondering, " How long did this piece take?"
Months of 10 hour days, this piece totally consumed my life for way too many months.
I worked solely on this piece, nearly every spare moment I had. It "needed" to be created.
Prior to starting this piece it was in my thoughts continuously .
